What's covered?

This Level 6 programme is aimed at those with a Foundation Degree in Working with Children and Young People, Early Years, Primary Education, Healthcare Play Specialism or in a related field. It will extend and develop further skills and learning to meet the government's policy of developing dynamic, high quality practitioners across the children and young people's workforce.

The course will provide you with a supportive learning environment that will develop your academic and interpersonal skills, enhance self-awareness, encourage personal and career growth and establish a foundation for lifelong learning.

You will cover the following modules:

  • Safeguarding children
  • Provision of services
  • Working with young people
  • Research methods
  • Dissertation

What do you need?

You need to be in current employment in an appropriate setting for a minimum of two days a week, hold a Foundation Degree in a related subject, have a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, have the support of your employer and someone to act as your mentor.

How you are assessed

Your work will be assessed through a range of formative and summative methods including poster and oral presentations, essays, annotated essay plans, research project proposal and a dissertation.

What course next?

On successful completion of the Level 6 modules you will have achieved a BA (Hons) Working in Integrated Services for Children and Young People.
