Whether you’re a complete beginner or want to take a hobby or passion to another level and enjoy floral decorations, then this course could be for you. It aims to inspire and help you to develop traditional techniques and practical design skills involved with floral arranging. The tutor is a qualified teacher and was professionally trained in Floristry at the Covent Garden Academy of Flowers, Westminster AES, The Judith Blacklock Flower School and Merrist Wood Agricultural College, and is a practising florist.

This is a course for everyone, no previous knowledge is required. Materials are provided for the first lesson, for subsequent classes you will need to bring your own flowers, foliage, floral foam (or Agra-wool / chicken-wire) and containers, max spend recommendation approx. £20.00 recycling and gathering from own garden is encouraged and could include dried, artificial, and seasonal flowers/foliage. Requirements will be advised by the tutor each week for the following week.
Course information
Students will be guided with step-by-step demonstrations, followed by the practical part of the session to create their own designs with their chosen materials and mechanics. At the end of the session, students will be advised regarding the designs, and the materials, containers and mechanics, that will be required for the following week. The programme is structured to meet the student’s need to be able to create a great variety of flower arrangements including traditional, contemporary, European, table-scaping and free-styles, including eco-friendly, sustainable floristry techniques and mechanics. The floral materials used are seasonal and fresh.
The course is 20 hours across 8 weeks at 2.5hrs per week
Friendly environment alongside like-minded people, predominantly hands-on learning, with time will be allocated for students to discuss and evaluate their work with their peers and the tutor.
