This level 3 qualification introduces you to more complex tasks in financial accounting and costing and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in Accountancy or Finance. You will learn how to prepare final accounts of sole traders and partnerships. You will also learn how to maintain cost accounting records and to prepare reports and returns.

Learning will be a mix of classroom teaching, online sessions, individual and group activities, tutorials and. self study. Students will also be trained on financial spread sheets using MS excel spread sheet.

Course information

What will I study?

The course is divided into four units which will enable you to achieve the defined professional standards.
1) Business Awareness
2) Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
3) Management Accounting Techniques
4) Tax Processes for Businesses

Duration of the course

36 weeks (plus some online classes). In addition to lessons, students are expected to complete an average of 3-6 hours of self-study per week.

Blended learning – classbased and online

How will I be assessed?

There will be four computer based assessments (exams) – all to be done within the college. In addition to these formal assessments, there will be practice activities and mock tests throughout the period of the course.
