What's covered?

This course will help you develop as a professional, self-reflecting individual able to meet the demands of employers in the business sector and adapt to a constantly changing world.

You will cover the following modules over the two-year programme:

Year 1

Year 2

  • Operations & Project Management

  • Organisational Behaviour
  • Understanding & Leading Change
  • Developing Individuals, Teams & Organisations
  • Sales Management
  • Research Project

What do you need?

You will need GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 and above (A--C) plus business or related subjects at A Level or BTEC. However, a lower entry point may be considered with good references, or an Access course. Students with overseas qualifications are also welcome.

How you are assessed

You will be assessed through a range of coursework designed to help you develop academic and professional skills.

How Long?

2 years full-time (over 2.5 days a week). You may choose to exit after one year at HNC level.

What course next?

This course will prepare you for entry into the workplace, a higher Apprenticeship or direct 'top up' entry into the final year of many University Business Honours degree programmes.

What could this lead to?

Successful completion of the HND in Business can lead to careers such as a Business Manager, Business Development Manager, Business Advisor, Office Manager, Retail Manager, Sales Manager, Business Consultant or General Manager. The course will also provide you with knowledge and skills towards the Accounting, Human Resource, Marketing and Operations fields.
