Course Overview

The BTEC level 3 Extended Certificate is equivalent to one A level. It will prepare you to enter employment or if combined with other qualifications to progress to higher education.

The course offers an insight into all aspects of business. You will study four units over the programme of study. The course will link theory with practical application making maximum use of your own experience. The course offers the chance to develop a range of skills as you are assessed through coursework, examination and the observation of practical activity.

Requires four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths and may include a BTEC.

What will I study?

You will study the fundamentals of business including exploring Business Purposes, Developing a Marketing Campaign, Business Finance and Recruitment.

2 years

How will this course be delivered?

In class, face to face with some practical activity, individual and group work.

How will I be assessed?

Students undertake six units for which they present evidence based on real life work and studies. Progress is measured through on going assessment throughout their course allowing students to gauge their own performance on a continuing basis.

What industry experience will I gain?

During your two years of study you will undertake a work placement. You will also hear from a variety of industry speakers and attend master classes, workshops, trips and conferences.
