Course Overview

This course will help you to develop knowledge and skills relevant to the business world through participation in a range of vocational business activities. You will learn the fundamental aspects of working in a business from financing and marketing to dealing with customers effectively and how to apply your learning and skills in a work-related context.

Additionally, the course will help you to develop the skills that are essential for the moder-day workplace. These skills will include team-work, working form a prescribed brief, working to deadlines, presenting information effectively and accurately completing administrative tasks and processes.

Course information

You will study units on Marketing, Business Finance, Customer Service and Recruitment. Your final unit will be bringing all of these together to create a business plan for your own business idea.

In class, face to face with some practical activity, individual and group work.

You will complete eight units during the year. Six of these are coursework and two of them are exams. The coursework will consist of a mixture of written and practical activities. Last year we went to Enterprise Headquarters where students took part in a customer service role play activity which formed part of their coursework.

Level 2 EDEXCEL BTEC First Certificate in Business

During your studies you will undertake work placed learning, hear from a variety of industry speakers and attend master classes, workshops and relevant trips and visits.
