How have results been awarded?

We closely followed Ofqual  guidance and used our professional experience to make a fair and objective judgement of your grades. We took into account the full range of available evidence including non-exam assessment; the results of any homework assignments and mock exams; and any other existing records of your performance over the course of study. All grades were reviewed by senior staff and approved by our Head of Centre before being submitted to awarding bodies who then carried out further external quality assurance checks on grades.

It has been confirmed that Summer 21 results will carry the same value as in other years, and should be treated the same by employers, colleges and universities allowing you to progress.

We have an FAQ here and a guide published by Ofqual which outlines how exams have been awarded this year. Ofqual has also recently published a blog here on how to manage worries around results day and some strategies that might help.

Support, Information and Guidance

The exams Moodle page here is live with all the latest and relevant support information including appeals, please ensure you check it for the latest information and support available. Please see our results day poster for A-level students which includes a guide to clearing.

If you’re disappointed with your grade you might consider whether you could sit exams in the autumn series to improve your grade.

If you are concerned that the grade you have received is wrong, there is an appeals process. If you appeal, your grade could go up, down, or stay the same. You must check the exams Moodle page here for all the latest information on appeals, please note that there are deadlines to appeal by.

There are a number of helplines available to you which are open from A level results day until a week after GCSE results day:

  • Other Enquiries (Student Services) – 01784 228606

Certificates

Certificates will not be issued by awarding bodies until November 21, we will write to your personal email address nearer the time on how certificates will be issued.

It is very important that you keep your contact details up to date with the College until you receive your certificates. If certificates are posted to an old address, you will be responsible for ordering a replacement or statement of results from the awarding body.

We wish you all the best ahead of results day!
