Free mental health service launched

A free mental health resource is now available for all students studying at Langley, Strode’s and Windsor colleges. The Big White Wall (www.bigwhitewall.com) a leading digital mental health service, will provide help with a wide range of mental health and wellbeing issues, from anxiety, depression, stress and trauma, to relationship problems and lifestyle challenges.

The anonymous online community, which is monitored 24/7 by trained clinicians, provides peer to peer support, resources for self-management, information and advice plus guided support programmes on a range of common issues. It is the only service of its kind registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Commenting on the difference the free resource will mean to both staff and students Bernadette Joslin, Assistant Principal Student Services said: “We’re delighted to offer the services of the Big White Wall to all our students and staff. The highly regarded service is appealing as it’s really accessible to our college community 24/7 and offers a wider range of support for anyone who is stressed and anxious.   We have seen how popular it is in other colleges and universities and very much look forward to offering this exciting digital service as an additional way our staff and students can get support and advice when things feel a bit overwhelming.’’

Students looking for an anonymous and stigma-free environment and a means to follow their own path towards better mental wellbeing should go to www.bigwhitewall.com  and create an account using their college email.
