What's covered?

This course is designed for those who are already in full- time employment within the construction industry and who want to further their career and gain an industry recognised qualification. It is delivered in partnership with employers to mix academic study and workplace learning and will equip you with the relevant knowledge, understanding and skills to improve your performance and productivity both in technical and managerial work. You can progress from this course to study a full degree leading towards membership of professional institutions.

You will cover a range of units including:

  • Law and Contract
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Science and Materials
  • Environmental Impact of Construction

What do you need?

You will need GCSE English and Maths at Level 4 or above or equivalent qualifications. Applicants over 21 without the above qualifications are also encouraged to apply. All applicants will be required to attend an interview with a member of the course team and to complete an assessment.

You will be assessed using a range of methods including presentations, assignments and practical tasks.

What course next?

Students who successfully complete their qualification may progress to study for the award of a vocational honours degree leading towards full membership of professional institutions.

What could this lead to?

The course will enable you to develop a wide range of employability skills through the emphasis on a vocational approach to teaching and a focus on a range of technical and managerial knowledge and skills.
