We are delighted to announce the arrival of a brand new Anatomage Table, bringing cutting-edge medical technology into the classroom and creating exciting new opportunities for students to explore human anatomy in an immersive and interactive way.
The high-tech, life-size touchscreen device provides a fully segmented real human 3D anatomy system, allowing learners to study the human body with exceptional accuracy and detail. Widely recognised as one of the most advanced anatomy visualisation systems available in education today, the Anatomage Table offers an engaging, hands-on learning experience without the need for physical cadavers.
The innovative 3D virtual dissection table enables users to visualise, rotate and zoom into precisely reconstructed human anatomy for medical education, research and clinical diagnostic training. Students can investigate anatomical structures layer by layer, gaining a deeper understanding of how the body functions and how different systems connect.
Using digital scalpels, learners are able to carry out virtual dissections on between four and six highly detailed real or synthetic human cadavers. This technology allows students to safely and confidently explore anatomy in ways that would previously only have been possible in specialist medical environments.
Not only will our Higher Education students benefit from the new Anatomage Table, but it will also give our Access to HE Social Sciences and Education students the opportunity to engage with the software and develop their understanding through interactive learning.
To support collaborative and independent study, the Anatomage suite includes one main table designed for group learning sessions, alongside a number of linked tablets. These tablets allow individual students to test the software themselves, explore anatomical systems independently and reinforce classroom learning at their own pace.
The purchase of the Anatomage Table was secured as we were successful in our capital bid from the Office for Students to support Higher Education learners and reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in innovative technology that enhances teaching, enriches the student experience and prepares learners for future study and career opportunities.
The introduction of the Anatomage Table marks another exciting step forward in creating modern, engaging and industry-relevant learning environments for our students.
Oana Arotaritei, an Access to HE lecturer at Slough & Langley College, is excited by the new equipment: “The Anatomage Table enhances learning quality for Access to HE and HE learners by providing interactive, three-dimensional visualisation of human anatomy.
It supports active, experiential learning and enhance clinical reasoning; enabling learners to explore complex anatomical structures that are difficult to grasp through textbooks alone. This technology improves spatial understanding, encourages critical thinking, develop learners – led activities and bridges theory with clinical application.
As a result, learners develop deeper understanding, increased engagement, and greater confidence in applying anatomical knowledge within health and social care contexts.”
