The Governing Boards of Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) and The Windsor Forest Colleges Group have confirmed their intention to merge, to form one college group at the beginning of August this year. The decision was made following a period of due diligence, which now leads into a public consultation before the merger can be finalised.

The Chair of The Windsor Forest Colleges Group Board, Angela Wellings commented on this landmark decision, which will bring together four of the colleges in the region under one organisational banner: “We are excited at the prospect of widening the reach of the college group and bringing together all the resources and expertise that exist within both organisations for the benefit of our students, employers and the communities we serve. Our larger group will provide opportunity for increasing partnerships in the region and ensuring we are a driving force for social and economic change.”

The Chair of Governors for BCA, Pippa Goodwin commented on the decision which has been under consideration for some time. She said: “The option to merge has been explored thoroughly and we are delighted that following our due diligence both organisations have decided to proceed with the merger proposal. This will provide a much wider footprint for the group and increase opportunities for students, employers and the local community. We are launching our public consultation this week and are interested in hearing from our stakeholders as we want to take everyone’s views into account.”

The merger will see BCA joining Langley, Strode’s and Windsor Colleges as part of the combined group. Each college will retain their unique identity and will continue to offer their specialisms at each campus – but will benefit from the shared resources and expertise within the group, which will offer complementary programmes to increase opportunity for students and employers.

The public consultation launches this week on 24th March and runs until the 27th April. The public can submit their views by visiting the college websites at and and complete the online form. Printed copies of the form can be requested by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
