East Berkshire College students and staff are celebrating another year of excellent A Level results, as final grades were revealed today (16th August 2012) after weeks of nervous anticipation.

Continuing to set high standards, the College’s full A Level pass rate was an outstanding 99%, ahead of the national average of 98%. The College also celebrated 100% pass rate in 20 subjects including Business, Psychology, Sociology, Law and all English and Science subjects. The College’s A-C pass rate was 65.4%

The College’s Windsor Campus was packed with nervous students waiting to open those all-important envelopes. Anxiety soon turned to smiles as they found out their marks.

One of the most outstanding students was Charlotte Sullivan (19), who achieved A* in English Literature and three A’s in English Language, Politics and Maths.

“I am thrilled with my results, which have surpassed all of my expectations. Studying at the College has been such a great experience and I owe my tutors everything, they have been amazing! Now I’m looking forward to studying English Literature at Reading University.”

Having achieved their grades, many of the College leavers will now be going on to good universities and exciting employment opportunities.

Peter Mills, Director of Curriculum at the College, said: “Our students have really done themselves proud. It is great to see so many young people fulfilling their potential. It is a huge credit not only to the students, but also to their teachers. We wish all our students the very best of luck in their chosen university courses or career paths.”

In recent years, East Berkshire College has continued to go from strength to strength in terms of raising standards. With outstanding A Level results for the past few years and a growing reputation for excellence, the College has seen continued demand for its A Level courses. In response to this demand, the College recently completed extension works to its Windsor Campus to provide new science laboratories and enhance student social facilities.

In May 2009, Ofsted judged the College to be consistently good overall, with outstanding social and educational inclusion, and financial planning.

The College offers a wide range of subjects at A Level (AS and A2) including all the traditional Science, Humanities and Creative subjects, with Languages, and also Accounting, Economics, Law, Politics, Psychology and Sociology.
