Students at East Berkshire College, which has campuses in Langley and Windsor, can now save money on bus travel on First Bus routes thanks to a new subsidised bus pass scheme.

In association with First Bus, the College has launched a fantastic new student bus pass for those under 19 years old to help lower travel costs and encourage more students to use public transport. For example, with the new bus pass a student undertaking a typical journey to College three times a week will be able to save an average of £100 a year on bus travel from this September. And what's more, as the pass is also valid at evenings and weekends, there is the chance to save even more!

The pass will cost just £25 per term (or less for those from low income households who qualify for a further discount) and entitles the individual to child fares on any First Bus routes serving Berkshire and the Thames Valley, including the Green Line London coach service.

Available to those who are under the age of 19 and enrolled on a course, the pass is being part-subsidised by the College and will offer students at least a third off bus travel.

"We are delighted to be able to offer our current and future students the opportunity of discounted bus fares," said Kate Webb, Principal of East Berkshire College. "We are committed to providing as much support as possible to our students, from financial assistance to careers advice and work experience programmes. This subsidised bus pass scheme is yet another way the College is helping to ensure learning is accessible to all."

Many people may also be eligible for free course fees or help with the cost of study. As well as government funding schemes, East Berkshire College has its own financial support schemes and flexible instalment plans available on some courses to help with the cost of studying.
