College fair provides help for homeless

pops winter_fair_350pxStudents on the Personal Options programme at East Berkshire College have helped provide an extra special gift for young homeless people in the Thames Valley.

In the spirit of the season, the students and staff held a Charity Winter Fair at the College's Langley Campus. Raising over £370 for local charity Padstones, which provides support for homeless people aged 16-25, the fair included a variety of stalls as well as a raffle and tombola.

Paul Wiltshire, Operations Manager at Padstones, collected the cheque on behalf of the charity at a special presentation at the Langley Campus.

"We are delighted that the students chose to raise money for Padstones," said Paul. "The support of local organisations and fundraising events, like this one, are really important to enable us to continue our work."

Padstones is a registered charity that provides a lifeline for young homeless people in the Thames Valley and helps them to make the transition from dependence to independence.
