Windsor College, part of East Berkshire College, opened its doors to prospective students and their families on Thursday (28th January).

Over 310 visitors attended the Open Day at the college in St Leonards Road, to find out about an array of courses from A Levels to Visual Merchandising. Students gave guided tours around the College, and advisors were on hand to discuss financial support and travel schemes.

Visitors were able to have a go at a variety of activities from t-shirt printing to science experiments. Performing arts students showed off their singing talents by performing live music from their upcoming show at The Firestation Arts Centre, while art and design students showcased their creative talents in a mini art exhibition.

Cara McCaffrey, aged 15 years old, from Maidenhead was one of the prospective students who attended the open day to look at studying A Levels at the college.

"Everyone was very friendly and informative about their subjects," said Cara. "The student guides were really welcoming and gave you more information about the college as they showed you around. I liked the size of the building as it was easy to navigate."

Ben Harris, aged 15 years old, and Harminder Singh Bhinder, aged 16 years old, both from Slough, applied on the night to study A Levels at the college. "It's a good campus with a good atmosphere," said Ben. "The college has more specific and better facilities for Science than school."

Windsor College offers over 20 different A Level subjects, as well as BTEC and Higher Education qualifications in Applied Science, Performing Arts, Visual Merchandising, Art and Design, Media and Business. There are also combined pathways available, which allow students to combine an A Level with a vocational course such as a BTEC in Engineering or Science.

Building on its excellent reputation, in August 2015, the College celebrated 100% pass rate in 12 A Level subjects including English, Law, Fine Art, Spanish, French, Geography, Photography, Film Studies and Business Studies.
