A passion for fashion and fundraising

charity fashion_show_01-400pxStudents from East Berkshire College took to the catwalk on Thursday (9 December) in a retro charity fashion show at Windsor's Firestation Arts Centre in aid of Cancer Research UK. Delivering a thrilling journey through eight decades of fashion, the event showcased a variety of vintage clothing from the roaring 1920s to the present day.

Raising over £540 for the charity, the show entitled 'Deja Vu' was organised by students in conjunction with Cancer Research in Peascod Street. Around 90 people attended the event with money from ticket and clothing sales going to the cause.

The models, who were all students from the College's Windsor Campus, were accompanied on stage by music from the era, which included the Beatles and Nirvana. There was even a special appearance from Buddy Holly himself!

The show brings to a close another year of record success for the College, which achieved an outstanding 100% pass rate for A Levels in 2010 – placing it in the top 10% of UK colleges.

The College offers a wide range of A Level (AS and A2) subjects at its Windsor Campus including Law, Media Studies, Spanish, Politics, English Literature, Biology, History and Photography. The campus also hosts specialist courses in Science, Business, Media and Retail and Merchandising Display.
