What's covered?

This subject will allow the student to develop an advanced level understanding of chemical knowledge and practical applications.

What do you need?

You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C and above including a grade B in Chemistry or grade BB in Double Science, and at least a grade B in Maths.

How you are assessed

The course will be delivered to the AQA syllabus, through lectures, practicals and class discussions.

How Long?

AS one year/A Level a further year

What course next?

Students would normally continue into the 2nd year and complete the full A level. The requirement to do this is at least a D grade in the AS Examinations. AS levels have now been 'decoupled' from AS levels so do not count towards the A level. A full set of a level exams will take place in that 2nd year. Post A level students can progress to higher education or use the qualification to move into employment in a related field.
