Course Overview

The Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years practitioner has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with young children in an early years environment. It covers a wide range of areas including children development, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.

It’s aimed at learners who want to progress to a level 3 qualification in Early Years.

Course information

I year

There are 14 mandatory units in this qualification and it will be internally assessed using a range of methods, which could include written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board. You will also be assessed in the placement on the practical skills.

Level 3 Technical Certificate in Childcare and Education or Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

This course is a preparation to working in a school setting.
