Course Overview

You will develop the skills, attributes and behaviour needed to progress to further study and employment. You will learn through classroom theory as well as putting these into practice through technical sessions.

The course itself is made up of four mandatory core units and six sector specific units covering:
• ICT
• Travel

It will also include English and Maths to GCSE level and tutorials.

This course is taught at the Slough & Langley College campus in Langley, Berkshire, with access to industry-standard facilities and industry-experienced tutors.

Entry Requirements

Four GSCEs at grade 2 or above.

Course information

You will study a variety of subjects from Business, Travel and IT. Units are a mix of theory from Excel spreadsheets, Developing a Business Idea and Customer Service in Hospitality and Tourism. Practical units including working with others and supporting in running where you can put the theory you have learnt into practice.

1 Year

The course is delivered through theory, practical involvment and working with others

You will be assessed by your tutors by demonstrating the skills developed in the practical sessions.

EDEXCEL Level 1 BTEC Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies

A 1 week work placement in an industry of interest to you and relevant to your course

The course can lead to a level 2 qualification within Business, IT or travel
