Course information

This course covers the following areas:
– Structure of the construction industry
– Fundamental safe working practices
– Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
– Site preparation or working in the construction industry
– Electrical installation wiring and terminations
– Fabrication techniques for electrical installations
– Electrical science and technology

1 year

Two-thirds of this course consists of practical classes delivered by experienced tutors with a trade background in fully equipped workshops. Theory-based classes are delivered in college classrooms. Where necessary, classes are occasionally delivered virtually.

You will be assessed through direct observation and externally set theory exams.

Level 1 City & Guilds Diploma in Electrical Installation

Level 1 students are expected to find an employer to do industry placement with for the duration of one week, with the support of a dedicated college office.

This course could lead to an apprenticeship, or progression to Level 2.

Level 1
