Course Overview

This course will be delivered on the following dates:
Monday 3 March 2025 – Wednesday 5 March 2025 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (3 days) Funding Available

The Electricity for Plumbers training course is designed to help plumbers and heating engineers, who work on central heating electrical control systems, to work safely and comply with the appropriate standards.

While not aiming to turn plumbers, gasfitters and heating engineers into electricians, this short course will give them the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain and repair modern gas appliances.

This 3-day short course will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to enable candidates to:
• Understand the basic principles and theory of electricity.
• The basics of Domestic house wiring / electrical installation theory.
• The need for and carry out Safe Isolation.
• Electrical supply and distribution
• Legislation and Regulations
• Understand Central heating control systems.
• Common electrical components used in domestic heating and hot water systems.
• How central heating system wiring and components come together.
• Carry out Logical Fault Finding.
• Inspection and Testing.
• Treatment for electric shock.
