Course Overview

This course will enable candidates to select the most appropriate solar system for a building based on the client’s needs and to install and maintain any of the common systems in the UK safely and efficiently.

The course price quoted includes assessment and certification and is VAT exempt.

This is a Level 3 qualification of 10 credits and 80 guided learning hours consisting of 5 mandatory units that comprise of practical and theoretical elements. ALL units must be achieved to achieve the overall qualification.

The course module covers:
– Know the requirements to install, commission and handover solar thermal hot water systems
– Install, commission and handover ‘active’ solar thermal hot water systems
– Know the requirements to inspect, service and maintain ‘active’ solar thermal hot water systems
– Inspect, service and maintain ‘active’ solar thermal hot water systems

Course information

The assessments are Open Book which means that the candidates can attempt to answer the questions by referring to their notes or text books. Each version of the assessment consists of 56 multiple choice questions.

3 Days

Learners may progress to achieve the BPEC Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (QCF) or BPEC Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pumps Systems (Non-refrigerant Circuits) (QCF) to gain a broader knowledge of available systems.
