Students will have guided learning on differentiated levels from Entry 1 – To level 1.
Students should be happy to write short sentences that can be copied from the board to complete factsheets about the different countries and to work independently and in small groups.
Course information
Students will learn more about the physical landscape, weather, culture, music, language, animals, and food from different countries around the world; and to improve personal, social, and employability skills.
36 Weeks From September 2023 to July 2024
Students will be guided through different tasks each week, working independently and in groups to achieve a greater understanding.
Students will learn this through experiencing a variety of media and discussing with the class what they thought.
Each week students will complete a factsheet, aiming to learn 10 facts. Each half term will focus on a different continent of the world so over the year they will learn about countries from every continent. To learn about each country and their culture students will explore through video, multimedia, discussion, and trips and visits. Some weeks they will visit the BCA zoo to learn about the animals from the country that they are studying.
Students will all follow a Learning Criteria delivered over the year, assessments will be through tutor lead practical, classroom based activities and observations in class.
