Congratulations to everyone who has been nominated by their employers.
June 2025
Josh Johnston, L2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
“Since joining us in 2023, Josh quickly became part of the team. His enthusiasm and work ethic meant everybody wanted to work with him, and you could immediately see the impact he made on site. His passion to learn was also evident in the continuous good feedback received from his tutors at college, and fellow colleagues on site.
Josh recently was nominated for an apprentice competition with the Thames Valley Construction Training Association, of which Moorland Heritage are members. We are incredibly proud to say that Josh won the competition, and him along with two other apprentices in the sector are being sent to Nepal in September for two weeks to work with communities in need, utilising the skills he has learnt both at college and on site.
Josh is a great example to everyone of what can be achieved in the construction sector when you work hard, are determined to learn, and are great to work with.”
Sam Eagling Fernandez (Managing Director at Moorland Heritage), Employer
“Joshua’s ability to go above and beyond in every task you undertake is truly remarkable.
The skills and knowledge you have demonstrated is the reason you have been selected out of applicants from all big companies and construction jobs all over the country and was then interviewed on a one to one by three of the directors on the Thames Valley Construction Association. Well done Joshua, and have a great time in Nepal.”
