Our Solar Panel Installation courses are ideal for those looking to upskill and acquire the knowledge on how to install small scale photovoltaic (PV) systems, certified by MCS.
Topics and skills taught:
- Photovoltaic panels in context of renewable technologies
- How a Photovoltaic system works – principles and components
- Design and installation of a PV system
- Commissioning and Client Hand Over
- Maintenance and Fault Finding
- Control and power requirements
- System commissioning and handover to client
This 4 day course has been mapped and designed to meet the National Occupational Standards for the installation of generally domestic sized photovoltaic systems that are currently available in the UK which are connected to a single phase, grid connected electrical supply under Engineering Recommendation G83/1.
Awareness is provided of connections to 3 phase supplies, but the course excludes any system installed under Engineering Recommendation G59/2.
This 3 day course will enable candidates to select the most appropriate solar system for a building based on the client’s needs and to install and maintain any of the common systems in the UK safely and efficiently.
Upon completion of this course candidates will successfully be able to install, commission, decommission, service and solar thermal hot water systems.
This is a Level 3 qualification of 10 credits and 80 guided learning hours consisting of 5 mandatory units that comprise of practical and theoretical elements. ALL units must be achieved to achieve the overall qualification.
This 1 day course is designed for anyone who needs to perform safe electrical isolation in their work. It covers key sections of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (Regulations 3, 12, 13, 14, and 16) to ensure participants can meet the legal requirements and safely prevent injury and danger.
This is a one-day course with both a practical and a theory assessment. While a certificate of completion proves your understanding of the safe isolation process, it does not lead to a formal qualification. The certificate is valid for five years.
This 2 day EESS course is specifically aimed at existing practicing electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspection and testing and giving them the necessary training to upskill their existing skills to install EESS.
The course price quoted (above) includes assessment and certification and is VAT exempt.
The objective of this course is for learners to demonstrate they know and understand the
requirements for installing EESS. The learner will know the health and safety risks and regulations and standards relating to the installation, testing, and certification/handover of EESS systems.
This 4 day course covers the 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, which came into force in June 2018. These regulations are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671) – amended March 2022.
This qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations, It is also suitable for anyone of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
The IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) are the definitive standards for the electrical industry in respect of safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems and set requirements and operating criteria for the UK and correspond to EC standards.
This 4 day qualification delivers the specialist knowledge and skills you need, including appropriate legislation, inspection and testing techniques, completing and issuing certificates or reports and understanding of results and measurements.
It is best suited to those who are working within the electrical industry and are actively involved with the inspection and testing process with previous experience of live boards. It is also useful for you to have an understanding of 3 phase systems.
You should also understand the latest IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 and an up-to-date 18th Edition certificate.
The purpose and aim of this 2 day unit is to provide the learner with the skills and knowledge required in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
Learning Outcome:
1. Know the principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work
2. Know the importance of safe manual handling in the workplace
3. Know the importance of working safely at height in the workplace
4. Know risks to health within a construction environment
5. Know the importance of working around plant and equipment safely
