What's covered?

This course will prepare you to support pupils in primary, secondary and specialist schools and colleges. It could lead to a Level 3 Childcare course, a Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or employment in an educational setting.

The qualification has 11 units and covers areas such as:

  • Development
  • Supporting positive behaviour
  • Effective communication

There is a requirement to attend a work placement within a school setting.

What do you need?

You will need four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English Language and Maths. A Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required.

How you are assessed

You will be assessed by written assignments, work place assessments and professional discussions.
