What's covered?
This course provides training in a variety of beauty skills. On successful completion of this course you will have gained a range of beauty skills relevant for employment in the sector. However, there are wider opportunities if you progress to and achieve Level 3, subject to interview and references.
There are 12 mandatory beauty skills units covered on this course including:
- Manicures, pedicures and facials
- Lash and brow treatments
- Waxing services
- Basic make-up
- Reception duties
- Health and safety
- Image, client care and promoting products and services
- Working in the beauty industry
There are also additional training courses including:
- Dermalogical training
- Urban decay
- Fake bake spray tanning
Maths and English also form part of your study programme.
What do you need?
You will need three GCSEs including Maths, English and Science at Level 3 or above. You will also be interviewed and must demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to the course, supported by school reports and references. Where appropriate, ESOL Level 2 is required and a competent level of English, literacy and numeracy skills.

You will learn through practical and theory delivery. When you are competent and confident you will be able to carry out:

- Waxing services
- Basic make-up
- Reception duties
- Health and safety
- Image, client care and promoting products and services
- Working in the beauty industry

What course next?
Successful completion of level 2 provides you with a range of beauty skills with which to seek employment. However it should be recognized that wider opportunities are available if you progress to and achieve Level 3, subject to interview and references.
