Course information

There are 11 mandatory units:
– 201 Introduction to the industry
– 202 Health & Safety
– 203Client consultation for hair services
– 204 Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
– 206 Cut women’s hair
– 207 Colour and lighten hair
– 205 Promote products and services to client in a salon
– 209 The art of dressing hair
– 216 Salon reception duties

1 Year

A combination of Tutor led demonstrations, student participation & practice, theory delivery and commercial salon that will led on to formative & summative assessments.

Practical assessment takes place in the commercial salons and theory is assessed using online exams.

Level 2 CG Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing

Learners will work within the college commercial salon. Improving their client relationships and confidence within their practical skills.

Level 3 Hairdressing, apprenticeship or a career in hairdressing. Level 2 Hairdressing could lead to employment in a variety of customer service related industries.

A Kit & Unifrom must be purchased within 6 weeks of enrolling for the course. Details of the Kit & Uniform are handed out during the enrollment process. Bursaries are available for those who are eligible – subject to individual assessment.
