A minimum of three GCSEs is desirable, including a grade 3 in English, a grade 3 in Maths and in Science. Additionally, achieving a Merit in your previous Level 1 vocational subject is required.
For all courses, students with lower than a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will resit as part of their study programme.
You will also be interviewed and must demonstrate a positive attitude & commitment to the course.
A willingness to be a model throughout the duration of the course for all units is required.
Course information
One Academic Year
A combination of Tutor led demonstrations, student participation & practice, theory delivery and commercial salon that will led on to formative & summative assessments.
You will learn through practical and theory. Students must be willing to be used as a model for treatments throughout the duration of the course. When you are competent and confident, you will be able to carry out services on real clients in the commercial salons.
Candidates must also provide models for their final practical assessments.
Level 2 CG Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing
16-19 year olds will study Maths and/or English if this GCSE is not achieved on entry. Students will attend a 2 week block of Industry placement part of their full study programme.
Level 3 Hairdressing, apprenticeship or a career in hairdressing. Level 2 Hairdressing could lead to employment in a variety of customer service related industries.
Level 2
A Kit & Unifrom must be purchased within 6 weeks of enrolling for the course. Details of the Kit & Uniform are handed out during the enrollment process. Bursaries are available for those who are eligible – subject to individual assessment.
