This industry-recognised BPEC qualification is designed for experienced plumbers and heating engineers looking to gain certification to install, commission, service and maintain domestic vented and unvented hot water storage systems.

The course provides the knowledge and practical understanding required to work safely and competently in line with current Building Regulations, relevant standards and industry best practice, with particular emphasis on unvented hot water systems.

Successful candidates will be awarded the BPEC Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems certificate and competency card.

The course price quoted (above) includes assessment and certification and is VAT exempt.

This course is taught at the Slough & Langley College campus in Langley, Berkshire, with access to industry-standard facilities and industry-experienced tutors.

Course information

During the course, you will learn how to:

o Understand and apply the requirements of Part G of the Building Regulations relating to the design, installation, servicing and maintenance of domestic hot water storage systems, with particular emphasis on unvented cylinders.
o Identify common faults associated with domestic unvented hot water storage systems and understand how to rectify them.
o Understand how other Building Regulations, particularly Part L and Part P, impact the design, installation and maintenance of hot water storage systems.
o Demonstrate your knowledge and competence through a series of theory and practical assessments.

1 day (8:30am – 4:30pm)

Assessment (2.5 hours)
The assessments for the training course consists of a multi-choice question paper and a short written answer paper and a practical assessment job sheet. The time allocated to each and the pass rates are as follows:
– Multi-choice question Paper 1: 1 hour 20 minutes 100% pass rate
– Written Answer Paper 2: 30 minutes 100% pass rate
– Practical Assessment Paper 3: 40 minutes 100% pass rate

Level 3 Award in the installation and maintenance of Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems.
