This course has been designed for learners from a heating background (wet central heating systems) and covers the Installation, Maintenance and servicing of Air Source Heat Pumps Systems (non-refrigerant circuits).
The course price quoted includes assessment and certification and is VAT exempt.
As the UK moves towards net zero and the introduction of the Future Homes Standard (FHS), air source heat pumps are becoming a key technology in domestic heating. This Level 3 qualification has been designed for experienced heating engineers and plumbing professionals with a background in wet central heating systems who are looking to expand their skills into the renewable heating sector.
Developed in collaboration with the Heat Pump Association and the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), this qualification provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to install, commission, service and maintain the non-refrigerant circuits of air source heat pump systems safely and effectively.
The course focuses on the hydraulic (water-side) elements of air source heat pump systems and covers current industry standards, energy efficiency requirements and recognised best practice. Learners will gain an understanding of system design principles, low temperature heating, commissioning procedures and ongoing maintenance requirements to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently and in accordance with current regulations.
On successful completion, learners may be eligible to apply for membership of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), a Competent Person Scheme (CPS), relevant professional institutes or recognised trade associations, subject to meeting any additional scheme requirements.
This course is taught at the Slough & Langley College campus in Langley, Berkshire, with access to industry-standard facilities and industry-experienced tutors.
