East Berkshire College (in Langley and Windsor) and Strode’s College in Egham formally merged on 9 May 2017 to create a larger college group under the name, The Windsor Forest Colleges Group. We are delighted that the partnership with Strode’s College creates a fantastic dual campus sixth form provision at Windsor College and Strode’s College alongside our vocational offering at Langley College. This enlarged group allows us to benefit from the individual strengths of each of the colleges.

College National League Tables 2018

We are delighted that, so soon after merger, The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is a leading performer in a national college league table. Published at this year’s Association of Colleges National Conference, the league table is the work of journalists at leading industry newspaper FE Week. Colleges across the country have received scores based on learner satisfaction, employer satisfaction, destination data for 16 to 18-year-olds and destination data for adult students.

Overall, The Windsor Forest Colleges Group has been ranked as having the joint 7th highest score in the country out of over 200 FE Colleges.  The college scored highest in employer satisfaction, with data taken from the government’s latest FE Choices employer satisfaction survey and learner satisfaction, taken from the government’s latest national learner survey.

With the highest college scoring 35 points in total, the table marks The Windsor Forest Colleges Group out as a high performer and is a good indicator of progress made in the last year.

Ofsted Feedback on the new merged college

Since merger we have received positive progress reports from a Senior HMI at our Ofsted monitoring visits:

I was pleased to note that although the college merger would have taken a large amount of time and energy, significant progress was still made through the previous academic year in improving learners’ experiences and outcomes

You have implemented a new teaching and learning strategy with a clear focus on developing teachers’ skills and practice

Improving outcomes give weight to the contention that this new strategy is having immediate positive impact

I was particularly impressed with the progress that has been made in developing your learners’ work-related skills.
