Last week we enjoyed a brilliant week at the BETT Show 2025, with Windsor Forest making waves across the event!
35,000 people attended this year’s BETT Show in London, as the Europe’s biggest Education Technology event took place at the Excel Arena from 22-24 January.
Group Head of Digital Skills, Roddy Peters took centre stage on Wednesday as a headliner, delivering an inspiring talk on AI Alchemy at Windsor Forest.
He was joined on stage by Slough & Langley College business student Leticia, who was promoting our in-house AI assistant Winnie – built using Microsoft’s AI tools. We are incredibly proud of Leticia for her confident and insightful contribution, showcasing the talent and ambition of our students on such a prestigious platform.
Roddy then took to the Google stage, sharing insights on using AI in the classroom – a well-earned moment following his recent recognition as a Google Innovator! His expertise was in high demand, attending exclusive engagements that included a private breakfast alongside other select educators with the Department for Education, an ‘invite only’ evening for Google Champions, and breakfast with Canopy Education.
Roddy commented: “Bett is like catnip for technology lovers, and so was the perfect place to celebrate my one-year anniversary in this new role. And what a hectic but incredibly productive year exploring the potential of AI in education! It was an honour to be up there representing Windsor Forest and reflect on all we’ve discovered.”
Meanwhile, our Head of IT, Tim Mace, was fully immersed across all three days, representing both Windsor Forest and ANME (Association of Network Managers in Education), providing invaluable support and advice to schools and colleges nationwide on all things technology.
On Friday, CEO Gillian May and Group Technology Director Dan Fairbairn, joined the action. The team had an exclusive opportunity to meet with Meta in their private suite to discuss incorporating XR (Extended Reality) into our estates strategy. The team even found the time to draw their own virtual artwork!
We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who made BETT such a success. It was brilliant for The Windsor Forest Colleges Group to take such a prominent position in the schedule, ahead of the big plans that are in place to continue our AI journey as frontrunners in the Education sector.
