Two Horticulture Apprentices from BCA were invited to a RHS breakfast at the Chelsea Flower Show, as guests of Landex.
To celebrate and inspire young people in horticulture, the RHS (Royal Horticulture Society) hosted a breakfast event at the Chelsea Flower Show on Friday 23 May.
The two students, one from the Level 3 Horticulture Supervisor Apprenticeship and one from the Level 2 Horticulture Operative Apprenticeship, were invited to attend on behalf of BCA.
After breakfast they enjoyed a tour of two Gold winning gardens on Main Avenue, including Jo Thompson’s beautiful “The Glasshouse Garden”, whilst getting the opportunity to meet other people working in the industry. The students were then able to explore the exhibits at the show, including Leon Kluge’s “Iconic Landscapes”.
Jo Shepherd, Horticulture Apprenticeship Skills Coach at BCA, thoroughly enjoyed the experience: “It was a great opportunity for two of our hardworking apprentices to experience world class garden design and planting combinations and hopefully they came away full of ideas and inspiration to take back to the workplace with them.”
