Course Overview

The CKR1 ACS Course is designed for qualified gas engineers who wish to gain or renew certification to work on domestic gas cooking appliances. The course assesses your competence in the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, exchange, and disconnection of domestic gas cookers in accordance with current UK gas safety regulations.

This course is suitable for qualified gas engineers who:
· Hold an existing CCN1 and CENWAT ACS qualification
· Engineers adding HTR1 to their existing ACS qualifications.

This course is taught at the Slough & Langley College campus in Langley, Berkshire, with access to industry-standard facilities and industry-experienced tutors.

· Hold an existing ACS CCN1 qualification

· Current gas safety legislation and standards
· Installation of domestic gas cooking appliances
· Commissioning procedures
· Appliance servicing and routine maintenance
· Fault finding and repair techniques
· Gas tightness testing and soundness testing
· Safe disconnection and reconnection procedures
· Ventilation requirements
· Combustion principles
· Identifying and classifying unsafe situations
· Applying manufacturers’ instructions and relevant British Standards
