Course information

Content Summary:
By the end of this interactive workshop, learners will:
★ Understand what social media is and how it’s used in everyday life and work
★ Identify popular platforms – Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok
★ Set up or review a social media account (e.g. Facebook or Instagram)
★ Learn how to stay safe online – privacy settings, blocking/reporting, and scam awareness
★ Know how to post updates, photos and stories
★ Recognise the benefits and risks of social media use
★ Understand how social media can be used for job hunting, learning and networking
The tutor will adapt the session to reflect learners’ individual needs, focusing on the skills they wish to develop and how they plan to use them in everyday situations.

3 Hours

The course will be delivered face-to-face in a computer room at the college.

No written exams – just practical, supportive learning.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a college certificate.

Once you have completed this workshop, you will be ready to progress to other IT workshops from our programme.
