This allows them to work in the regulated UK energy assessment industry by surveying buildings, explaining EPCs and their recommendations to clients, and helping property owners understand their home’s energy use and how to improve it.

Day 2:
1. Measurements and drawing the floor plan
2. Conservatories – how to identify
3. Flats and Types of roofs (including loft conversions)
4. Floors – Suspended Timber or Solid and Position within the building
5. Openings – Windows and Doors
6. Ventilation – Extract, DMEV or CMEV
7. Lighting – Number of outlets and types of bulbs
Day 3:
1. Space Heating – How is the property heated?
2. Secondary Heating – additional heating?
3. Water Heating – How is the water heated?
4. New Technologies (Solar PV, Wind Turbines, Hydro)
5. Meters and Recommendations
6. The EPC Certificate Explained
7. Class discussion and recap
8. Conduct two Virtual EPCs as a group
Day 4:
1. Conduct EPC on two local properties
2. Data collection (Site notes, and floor plan)
3. Entering data into RdSAP software
Day 5:
1. Conduct EPC on a local property
2. Data collection (Site notes, and floor plan)
3. Entering data into RdSAP software

1. Completing Multiple Choice Quiz
2. Checking RdSAP inputs of the EPCs conducted
3. Letter writing (Communicating professionally with the client)
Day 7:
1. Letter writing (Communicating with the client and making a booking)
2. Portfolio completion

1. Review of portfolio
