This course provides training in a variety of beauty skills. On successful completion of this course you will have gained a range of beauty skills relevant for employment in the sector. However, there are wider opportunities if you progress to and achieve Level 3, subject to interview and references.

A minimum of three GCSEs is desirable, including a grade 3 in English, a grade 3 in Maths and in Science. Additionally, achieving a Merit in your previous Level 1 vocational subject is required.
For all courses, students with lower than a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will resit as part of their study programme.
You will also be interviewed and must demonstrate a positive attitude & commitment to the course.
A willingness to be a model throughout the duration of the course for all units is required.

There are 14 mandatory beauty skills units covered on this course including:
– 201 Working in the beauty-related Industries
– 202 Follow health & safety practice in the salon
– 203 Client care and communication in beauty related industries
– 204 Provide facial skin care
– 205 Promote products and services to clients in a salon
– 206 Remove hair using waxing techniques
– 207 Provide manicure treatment
– 208 Provide pedicure treatment
– 210 Provide eyelash and brow treatments
– 215 Provide nail art
– 216 Salon reception duties
– 218 Eyelash perming
– 219 Provide threading services for hair removal
– 222 Head massage
One Academic Year
A combination of Tutor led demonstrations, student participation & practice, theory delivery and commercial salon that will led on to formative & summative assessments.
You will learn through practical and theory. Students must be willing to be used as a model for Laser/IPL tretamnets throughout the duration of the coures. When you are competent and confident you will be able to carry out treatments on real clients in the commercial salons.
Laptops maybe required to be brought into college by candidate to complete theory lessons.
Candidates also have to provide models for their final practical assessments.
VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser & IPL treatments
16-19 year olds will study Maths and/or English if this GCSE is not achieved on entry. Students will attend a 5 day block of Industry placement part of their full study programme.
Level 3 Beauty Therapy, apprenticeship or career in Beauty Therapy.
Level 2
A Kit & Unifrom must be purchased within 6 weeks of enrolling for the course. Details of the Kit & Uniform are handed out during the enrollment process. Bursaries are available for those who are eligible – subject to individual assessment.
