This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to help learners develop confidence in using the internet and email for everyday tasks. It focuses on practical skills for safe browsing, finding information online, and sending and receiving emails.

Content Summary:
By the end of this interactive workshop, learners will:
★ Understand what the internet is and how it works

★ Use a web browser to visit websites and search for information

★ Recognise safe and secure websites

★ Set up and access an email account (e.g. Gmail or Outlook)

★ Send, receive, and reply to emails

★ Add attachments such as documents or images

★ Use CC and BCC appropriately

★ Organise your inbox using folders or labels

★ Understand basic email safety (e.g. avoiding spam and scams)
The tutor will adapt the session to reflect learners’ individual needs, focusing on the skills they wish to develop and how they plan to use them in everyday situations.

3 Hours

The course will be delivered face-to-face in a computer room at the college.

No written exams – just practical, supportive learning

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a college certificate.

Once you have completed this workshop, you will be ready to progress to other IT workshops from our programme.
