This course is intended to provide new knowledge to upskill existing engineers from other disciplines who are engaging in the activities of the ventilation systems in a non-residential /commercial sector.
This course is for those operatives currently employed in the building services industry, providing them with the necessary training to develop their existing skills. Learners will be required to demonstrate the necessary abilities, skills, and knowledge to be able to service, maintain, and perform fault diagnosis and fault rectification of ventilation and HVAC systems.
Programme Purpose:
The purpose of this programme is for learners to be able to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain, service, and repair ventilation and HVAC systems.
1. Updating occupational competence, continuous professional development (40 points)
2. Engaged in further education or training to enhance expertise or skills within a specific discipline and are current professionals in the field seeking to broaden their scope of work.
This qualification is for service, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair only. Design and installation are not covered due to time constraints.
The learner should also be aware that this course only allows the ‘air’ and ‘wet’ side of the HVAC systems and does not allow any work on the refrigerant aspects of chillers or heat pumps.
