Windsor Forest Colleges Group

Our group of colleges was formed in 2017 following the merger between East Berkshire College and Strode’s College. The Group was expanded in 2022 when it merged with Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA).

Our Vision

Our students will be recognised locally and nationally for their positive impact on the communities and industries in which they choose to work.

Our Purpose

To inspire our students to gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to be resilient and thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our Values

Excellence: A culture of creativity, high expectations, ambition and aspiration
Respect: Fairness, courtesy and mutual respect for each other and our environment
Integrity: Honesty, openness and trust at the heart of College life
Diversity: Celebrating diversity and inclusivity as a key to our success

Equality & Diversity

The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is proud of its diverse student and staff community. The College currently has students from more than 100 nations, with the youngest aged 14 and the oldest aged 90.

Our Single Equality Scheme outlines how we seek to ensure that the College is free from discrimination and strives constantly to move beyond legal compliance towards best practice in promoting and celebrating equality and diversity.

We are committed to promoting equality and opposing discrimination on the protected characteristics under The Equality Act 2010, namely:

  • Age
  • Race
  • Gender
  • Disability
  • Sexual orientation
  • Values, beliefs and faith
  • Socio-economic background
  • Transgender/gender re-assignment
  • Marriage/civil partnerships
  • Pregnancy and maternity

Socio-economic background is not a “protected characteristic” under the Equality Act 2010. We have included it as we consider the experiences of people whose life chances are affected by their social identity, in particular those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, important.

We will publish a range of equality data and information to demonstrate how we are meeting the Public Sector Equality Duty. We have also published equality objectives from April 2012.

Gender Pay Gap Reporting

As an employer we are required by law to carry out Gender Pay Gap Reporting under the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017. This involves carrying out six calculations that show the difference between the average earnings of men and women in our College. It will not involve publishing individual employee data. We are required to publish the results on our own website and a government website.

We can use these results to assess:

  • the levels of gender equality in our workplace
  • the balance of male and female employees at different levels
  • how effectively talent is being maximised and rewarded.
