Course Overview

The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry for Early Years Practitioner. (Diploma) has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 7 years, with applied knowledge in the early years (birth to 5 years).

It also provides introductory sector knowledge of professional practice to support wider contextual understanding of the early years practitioner route that provides learners with transferable employability skills.
It’s aimed at learners who want to progress to a Level 3 qualification in Early Years.

It covers a wide range of areas including the Roles and responsibilities of the Early years practitioner, Health and safety of babies and young children in the early years, Equality, diversity and inclusive practice in early years settings, Safeguarding, protection and welfare of babies and young children in early years settings, Understand how to support children’s development, Support care routines for babies and young children, Support the planning and delivery of activities, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes, Promote play in an early years setting, Support wellbeing of babies and young children for healthy lifestyles, Support babies and young children to be physically active, Support the needs of babies and young children with special educational needs and disability, Promote positive behaviour in early years settings, Partnership working in the early years, Support the needs of the child in preparing for school

Taught lessons one day a week and one day a week in a nursery setting

There are 14 mandatory units in this qualification, and it will be internally assessed using a range of methods, which could include written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board. You will also be assessed in the placement of practical skills
