Free 4-Week ICT Course for complete beginners
This fully funded course is designed for adults who are completely new to using computers or mobile devices. It offers free study if you:
– Are a UK resident
– Are aged 19 or over
– Do not yet have the essential digital skills needed for everyday life and work

Our experienced tutor will tailor the course to suit your needs, considering what you want to learn and how you plan to use your digital skills in real life.

You’ll be using standard desktop computers in class.

Course information

We start from the very basics – including how to use a keyboard, mouse, and screen – and gradually build up to everyday digital tasks such as:
– Logging in, passwords, and staying safe online
– Typing and using a mouse
– Browsing the internet, navigating web pages and tabs
– Searching for information online
– Using links and website navigation
– Setting up, sending, and receiving emails
– Shopping, banking, and accessing online services safely

These are essential skills in today’s world, and we make sure to focus on doing them safely and confidently

4 weeks – 3 hours sessions

The course will be delivered face-to-face in a computer room at the college.

No written exams – just practical, supportive learning

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a college certificate.

After completing this course, you’ll be ready to progress to the Essential Digital Skills Entry 3 qualification.
