As we prepare to return to college in September, we want to reassure you of the measures we will be taking to keep you safe and to maintain your learning.
Government Guidance for Colleges
The government has issued new guidance outlining the easing of restrictions and making recommendations for educational settings. In line with the guidance, we will be continuing the following safety measures.
Lateral Flow Testing
We ask all new and returning students to undertake two onsite lateral flow tests in the first week at college. We will provide you with information on how and when we will be offering these tests before your induction or first class onsite. Please check your emails for updates.
Twice Weekly Testing
We ask you to continue testing at home twice each week for the immediate future or until the government advises differently. You can pick up home test kits from college as you need, or you can collect them from community locations if more convenient.
Please note you will need to register each test with the NHS.
Face Coverings
The government advises that face coverings are no longer needed in teaching spaces (classrooms, studios, workshops); however, we ask you to continue to wear face coverings in communal areas inside our college buildings.
Cleaning and Hygiene
We will continue to maintain our very high standards of cleaning and hygiene on campus, and will continue to stock hand sanitisation stations and provide in-class cleaning materials should you need them.
Ventilation
As the virus is airborne, we will ensure maximum ventilation wherever possible (temperature allowing).
Hands - Face - Space
While restrictions are eased, we would encourage you to continue to follow the Hands-Face-Space model and be respectful of each other’s space and hygiene.
Please do not attend college if you are unwell and follow the government’s guidance on PCR testing and self-isolation.
