Strode’s and Windsor Colleges celebrate outstanding 2019 A Level results

Strode’s and Windsor Colleges have cemented their position as leading sixth form providers with the news of their 2019 A Level and BTEC results. Students and tutors from both colleges are celebrating this morning with Strode's students achieving an impressive 99% pass rate for their advanced level courses and Windsor students securing an equally impressive 98% pass rate at advanced level.  High grades were in abundance with 14 students gaining straight As and A*-B and D*D passes increasing to 56% at Strode's and 40% at Windsor. The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is highly valued by universities, sustained its 100% track record for the third year running at Strode’s. At Windsor the EPQ also achieved a 100% pass rate, its third consecutive increase in a row, indicative of the improving academic culture at the College. 203 College Leaders write to the Chancellor and Secretary of State for Education to call for urgent implementation of Augar Report

The Windsor Forest Colleges Group Principal and CEO Kate Webb has joined forces with the leaders of every general further education college in England to write an open letter to the Chancellor and Secretary of State for Education urging them to “answer the calls from business” and respond to the “challenges of technological change and Brexit”. In this unprecedented move the letter calls on the government to urgently invest in the country’s technical and vocational education system by implementing the main recommendations of the government’s recent Post-18 Education Review (the Augar Review).   Commenting on the importance of the government taking action now, Ms Webb said: “We want to make sure the government is not distracted from the findings of the Augar Review which offers a turning point for the way in which colleges are funded now and into the future.
