If you are looking to improve your skills and prospects, our 12 week fast-track course in IT will help you develop your IT skills and knowledge to enable you to use IT effectively in your daily life and career. This qualification is also designed to prepare you for employment in the IT sector.

Most of the people who enrol on this course have no prior experience - we'll teach you everything you need to know and help you to achieve industry-recognised qualifications. You will learn a range of technical and practical IT skills on how computers work as well as word processing, spreadsheet software and presentation software. All our lecturers are qualified professionals with real industry experience. You will learn in our fully equipped classrooms, which feature the latest equipment and resources.

What do you need?

There are no formal entry qualifications although you will be required to take a College assessment. You will also require enthusiasm, motivation and a proven commitment to hard work, good time keeping and a desire to learn.

How you are assessed

All theory tasks and practical activities in and outside the classroom will build up a portfolio of evidence for each module you are studying.

How Long?

Five days a week for 12 weeks

What course next?

You can progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Information Technology course on completion, subject to certain criteria being met.

What could this lead to?

Our IT Level 2 BTEC Diploma is accredited by Edexcel and is recognised within the industry, so you can go straight into employment at an intermediate level, move on to an apprenticeship or progress on to the Level 3 Diploma to further increase your earning potential.

IT continues to shape our world on an almost daily basis, so the opportunities are growing all the time. The demand for IT skills has never been greater, so developing your skills in this area is a great career move. This course could lead to a range of IT related jobs including IT / office administrator, helpdesk support and junior technician. For example, an office administrator in the UK can earn on average around £20,536 per year (Source: Totaljobs.com 2017).
