If you're looking for a career change or to improve your prospects, our 12 week fast-track course in Plumbing can provide you with the under pinning knowledge needed to start your career as a plumber.

You will study a wide range of skills to enable you to be effective in the industry. These include, measurements, cutting, bending and jointing of pipe work and how to use various materials such as copper, plastics and mild steel. This will result in the skills to be able to install plumbing and heating appliances ranging from baths, sinks, toilets, radiators, circulating pumps and controls. We'll teach you everything you need to know and help you to achieve an industry-recognised qualification, preparing you for a rewarding career. All our lecturers are qualified professionals with real industry experience. You will learn in our modern workshops and realistic work environments, which feature the latest industry equipment and resources.

What do you need?

There are no formal entry qualifications although you will be required to take a College assessment. You will also require enthusiasm, motivation and a proven commitment to hard work, good time keeping and a desire to learn.

How you are assessed

You are continually assessed through practical assignments and internal exams.

The course is five days a week for twelve weeks

What could this lead to?

Our Plumbing Level 2 Diploma is accredited by EAL and is recognised within the industry, so you can enter straight into employment, become self-employed, move on to an apprenticeship or progress on to the Level 3 Diploma.

The construction industry is growing fast and offers a vast range of employment opportunities for those with the right skills. There is currently great local demand for skilled plumbers and the work varies from becoming a domestic plumber to working for a local authority or large construction company. The average UK salary within this industry for a plumber is £29,000 per annum (Source: Totaljobs.com 2017).
