What's covered?

You will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills you need to prepare for employment in a sporting environment. The qualifications also provide career development opportunities.

The course has a range of units that include:

  • How the body works
  • Basic fitness instruction
  • Introduction into coaching

What do you need?

There are no formal qualifications required for entry however a GCSE English and Maths grade would be of benefit. You should have prior experience of the sport and active leisure industry and a sporting background - ideally involved in competitive sport, playing, coaching or officiating.

How you are assessed

You will be assessed via theory and practical demonstration.
