What's covered?

The VRQ Level 2 Certificate in Barbering programme will teach you the necessary skills to become a professional Junior Barber.

It requires the following 4 units to be completed:

  • Client consultation
  • Cutting men's hair
  • Cutting facial hair
  • Health & Safety

All of these units have a compulsory external test along with the practical assessments and in some cases a written assignment

What do you need?

Functional Skills: Maths and English functional skills at level 1

  • Be well presented in all aspects including: clothing, hair and personal hygiene
  • Be practical and well organised.
  • Be a good communicator
  • Have good dexterity
  • Be willing to dedicate 2 evening per week (5.30pm to 9.30pm - 8h total) as we demand high standards of attendance, time-keeping and dedication

How you are assessed

Learners must have completed all the assessment requirements for the programme can be achieved Assessment required for the programme may take the following forms: Practical observation Oral questioning Online testing and in some cases assignment writing
