The beauty therapy industry is vibrant and fast-paced. High streets are bursting with salons catering to all tastes, and no high-quality hotel, resort or cruise ship is complete without a professional-standard beauty salon. If you are looking to change career or improve your prospects, this 12 week fast-track Level 2 Diploma accredited by City & Guilds is ideal for those who would like to train in the beauty industry and learn a variety of facial and beauty skills. From deluxe skin care treatments to waxing services, we teach you everything you need to know and train you at industry standard to prepare you for employment within the flourishing beauty industry. You will learn through practical and theory lessons. Core units for this course include: - Manicure and pedicure - Providing facial skincare treatments - Enhancing the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes - Waxing services - Make-up artistry - Reception service - Health and safety - Constructing an image inspired by beauty trends - Client care - Promotion of salon products and services - Practical work experience There are also additional training courses that you may choose, such as Dermalogica training and spray tanning. All our lecturers are qualified professionals with real industry experience. You will learn in our state-of-the-art training salons, which feature the latest industry equipment and resources.

What do you need?

There are no formal entry qualifications although you will be required to take a College assessment. You will also require enthusiasm, motivation and a proven commitment to hard work, good time keeping and a desire to learn.

How you are assessed

You will learn through practical and theory. When you are competent and confident you will be able to carry out treatments on real clients in the commercial salons.

The course is five days a week for twelve weeks

Once you have achieved your Beauty Therapy Level 2 City and Guilds Diploma, you could enrol on to an apprenticeship, move into employment, become a self-employed beauty therapist or progress on to a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy to further increase your earning potential. The beauty therapy industry is fast-paced and full of diverse career options for those with the right skills. The local demand for skilled beauty therapist could provide you with the chance to work as a salon receptionist or junior therapist in a spa or salon. The average national UK salary for a beauty therapist is £15,946 per annum (Source: www.payscale.com 2017).
